Ritwik Shankar

Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur

Ritwik Shankar is pursuing his M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Control Theory at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He is a researcher at the Helicopter Lab under the guidance of Dr Abhishek, where he is working on autonomous landing of UAVs on a stochastically moving platform using Visual markers. His research focuses on using Computer Vision and Machine learning and combining it with control techniques for optimal trajectory generation of UAVs and robots. He received the IndiaAI fellowship for his work on autonomous landing. He also has experience with Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) optimised control methods for autonomous aerial robotics. He was the leader of the Aeromodelling Club and is the Captain of the Football team at IIT Kanpur. His career goal is to pursue a doctorate while working on robotics and controls.
